MAX98357 I2S Audio Amplifier Module

Features:

• The MAX98357 Pulse Code Modulation(PCM)and MAX98358 Pulse Density Modulation(PDM)plug-and-play speaker amplifiers take full advantage of Maxim’s flexible bow and pin arrangements
• Output Power: 3.2W at 40, 10%THD, 1.8W at 80, 10%THD
• 12S sampling rate: 8Khz~96Khz
• Class D amplifier Gain selectable: 3dB/6dB/9dB/12dB/15dB
• No master clock(MCLK)required
• Plug and Play:35 different clocks and 128 digital tones can be automatically
• configured with only a single power supply
• Suitable for Raspberry Pi, Arduino and ESP32, and other tools, with 12Saudio output Controller or development board system
• Compared to typical analog amplifier solutions, the component count is greatly reduced, resulting in a significant reduction in solution size
• These features allow users to take advantage of Maxim’s cost-effective wafer-level packaging (WLP)without the need for expensive PCB VIAs since most users control the volume digitally
• To achieve excellent sound quality, the device uses digital inputs with high noise immunity and high jitter tolerance(at least 8dB better than competing solutions)
• The device also provides excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) rejection, allowing long-term speaker connections without the need for additional external filtering
• In addition, the device offers the industry’s highest Class D efficiency

Pin Description:

• VCC: Positive pole of power supply, DC 2.5V~5.5V
• GND: Grounding
• SD: Shutdown and channel selection. SD_ Pull down the MODE to place the device in theoff state
• GAIN: Gain and channel selection. In TDM mode, the gain is fixed at 12dB
• DIN: Digital input signal
• BCLK: bit clock input
• LRC: Left/right clock for 12S and UJ modes. Synchronous clock for TDM mode
