Product Details & Applications
The ESP8266 ESP-01 module is the ultimate budget-friendly solution for Internet of Things (IoT) developers. Out of the box, it comes pre-flashed with industry-standard AT commands, allowing you to use it as a simple serial-to-Wi-Fi shield alongside any Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or PIC microcontroller via the hardware UART port. For advanced developers, this module functions as a standalone computer. By utilizing the Arduino IDE or NodeMCU firmware, you can program the internal microcontroller directly. Take advantage of the onboard GPIO pins to host localized web servers or drive basic digital peripherals.Note: While the core ESP8266 chip supports hardware SPI and I2C, the compact 8-pin form factor of the ESP-01 only breaks out the UART lines and two GPIOs. For full hardware SPI/I2C access, please see our ESP-12F or NodeMCU development boards.
