Sonys IMX500 CMOS sensor features a stacked pixel chip and logic chip, embedding AI capabilities directly on the sensor to reduce processing time. This intelligent vision sensor moves standard image processing from a cloud-based system to the camera itself, capturing the images information and meaning and outputting only the necessary data. This results in lower latency, offline image processing, reduced power consumption, and lower costs.
